Canine Kisses, Doggie DNA

Always looking for something different to do with Murphy on a Sunday, we headed down to the Science Gallery yesterday for “Pets, Parasites and Petrie dish” a test they were doing in conjunction with the “Infectious” exhibition currently running (till July 17th). They were testing to see if animals carried more bacteria in their mouths than humans. (I got tested too)
Murphy volunteered her paw and kiss imprints onto a petrie dish - they will incubate them for a few days and will make up part of the exhibition from next week. They also did a doggie DNA test - very CSI! a guy in a white coat with a mouth swab. Nearly stabbed her on the first go, but got what he needed once some treats were offered.
Looking forward to getting the results - firstly we don’t know who her daddie is (or mommie for that matter as she’s a rescue dog) so can’t wait to see what the DNA test reveals, and secondly as baby deegan is due anyday now, it will be interesting to see who’s mouth is cleaner! (my mother is a bit neurotic about animals, germs & babies…)
I’ll update you with the results once i get them!
